Remarks from the Superintendent

Our hospital is one of the fifteen veterans’ hospitals that undertakes the medical service for veterans’, veterans’ families and the general public in the Taoyuan, Hsinchu and Miaoli areas; we, the chairpersons, have emphasized repeatedly that the Veterans’ Hospital’s primary focus is to take care of veterans’ followed by the health care insurance service ever since we became involved.

Currently, our hospital has become a modern District Teaching Hospital from the Medical Team from the beginning of the establishment. It has been our policy to serve the patients with “an administrative renovation program-with integrity, effectively and offering convenience for the patients”; and so as to care for the patients, we even established a “service oriented” goal to achieve that expectation. Facing this diversified society with diversified values, we are progressing as time goes on, therefore, with the core belief of “treating the patient like one of our family”, we have implemented the following measures:

  1. "Smile campaign": We hope to reduce the patient's stress level with smiles and concerns shown by the medical staff and relevant employees.
  2. "Volunteer Team": This is the front line service which helps the patient receive treatment with friendly service and in a cozy environment.
  3. "Evening Outpatient Service" For the convenience of the patients who are not able to come for treatment in the morning due to work. We even send transportation for elderly veterans'.
  4. We have moved all outpatient services for each department, medical lab and X ray to the first floor of the outpatients building, and combined the registration and cash desk together to ensure a smoother flow and to shorten the patient's treatment time, and to make elderly veterans' hospital visits easier.
  5. We send transportation to the veteran's home for veterans' who are ill: In so doing, we honor the chairperson's instruction to serve the veterans'.
  6. Improving the ease of accessibility for the convenience of disabled friends.
  7. We have opened up "medical resources" to assist e local doctors in processing medical waste, so expanding our services and the functions of the facility to full use.
  8. Strengthening of relations among the residents: We contact the community, social clubs, schools and media proactively, and utilize the local demand and resources to implement the government's policy to promote community health care services

The abovementioned are just a few of the improvements in the last two years, which have been widely approved by veterans' and the assessment officers. We will continue to serve the veterans' and provide medical service in line with with national health insurance, and with the instruction from the chairpersons, "take care of the veterans' as our primary focus".
